[Mike switched labs and out of UCMP] "I am interested in the evolution and conservation of African mammals. I wish to study the paleontological record to assist in the future management of African ecosystems. By examining the fossil record, we can understand what taxa survived climate and major environmental changes and which taxa did not. Understanding this, we can implement conservation strategies to prepare extant taxa for climate change and habitat changes."
