The Mouth and Manubrium of a Cubozoan

Cubozoan Mouth and Manubrium
If the prey of a cubozoan is still alive at this point, this could be the last thing it sees. During feeding, the pedalium pushes the prey inside the bell of the medusa, the manubrium (which is the tube that connects the stomach on one end to the the four-parted mouth on the other) reaches out and finds the prey. The mouth then expands and engulfs the prey.
