Camerata
The Camerates are a large group of Paleozoic
crinoids belonging to the Disparid clade with approximately
210 genera. They originated in the early Ordovician and
disapeared after the Permo-Triassic extinction.
They have either a globular
monocyclic or a dicyclic cup.
The Camerates are characterized by many plates making up the
cup, and a heavy-plated, rigid tegmen;
fixed brachials and interbrachials; the lack of a hydropore in
the oral plates; and pinnulate arms.
