You and your students are about to embark on an exciting scientific adventure based upon ongoing research of UC paleontologists studying about life in Montana 60-70 million years ago.
This may be unlike any other lesson that you have used with your students because it provides the opportunity to follow the scientific process using real research questions and data. Don't worry if answers to some of the questions are not immediately apparent. After all, scientists don't have all the answers either. This module provides a great opportunity for you as the teacher/facilitator/learner to share with your students the on-going nature of discovery that makes science thrilling.
This teacher guide has been prepared to give you background information and suggestions for lessons, assessment, etc. So if you are ready, we recommend that you head straight to Getting Started. Have fun!
