Dawn and student volunteer Leah Silverman have exposed a considerable amount of bone. It is clear that they are working on the underside of the skull. The rear of the skull is in the foreground, the ice pick pointing to the foramen magnum between the two occipital condyles. © 2006 UCMP
Teeth are now visible. There are two erupted and two unerupted molars. The front left molar had broken off and can be seen behind the two small boxes on the left. © 2006 UCMP
More and more of the skull comes into view. © 2006 UCMP

Here it is easy to see the difference between an erupted and unerupted molar. The one in the foreground is worn, whereas the two in the back still bear small cones of enamel, indicating that they had not yet been put to use. © 2006 UCMP
