Downtown Jordan, Montana

Once or twice a week we went into Jordan, the nearest town, for news and supplies. Jordan had assumed some national notoriety as the home of the Freemen the winter before, although it is a quiet, old-fashioned town that even has a real soda fountain in the drug store. Most of the Jordan residents we talked to didn't think highly of the Freemen, but they welcomed the extra business that the F. B. I. and the national news media had brought during the siege, and they thought the agents were pretty good folks. Opinions on the media were mixed.
