Tom, a graduate student in the Clemens Lab at Berkeley, was making his first trip to Eastern Montana. As well as being a paleontologist, Tom's hobby is entomology, and he spent a lot of time studying insects in the field. Along with Bill and Sera, Tom's main job was quarrying and collecting specimens -- but after a long day in the hot quarry, he roved around for hours at night collecting crickets!
