Systems. Partners in the project include Bay Area science teachers, the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE), the U.S. Geological Survey, the Berkeley Seismological Laboratory, San Francisco State University, and the UC Museum of Paleontology.
Team members met here at UCMP for two weekend workshops this spring to initiate discussion and production of a series of virtual teaching boxes. Each box will be made available on the DLESE website and will support the teaching of a geoscience concept or set of concepts. The boxes may include activities, teaching tips, supporting standards and benchmarks, metadata about the resources, reviews, geo-referencing, and assessment materials. The team will continue their efforts in Boulder this summer in preparation for a presentation at the California Science Education Conference in San Jose next fall. For more information about DLESE,
